Sabina Gasienica

School Psychologist

Hi there! I’m Sabina Gasienica, a Denver resident for the past two years, dedicating my time to working with Denver Public Schools. Proudly 100% Polish, my last name, Gasienica, translates to “caterpillar” in English. When I am not enjoying my work in school, you’ll likely find me lost in a good book or enjoying the great outdoors through activities like skiing, hiking, slacklining, or simply taking leisurely walks. I cherish moments spent with loved ones, whether it’s with friends exploring new trails or with family gathered around the dinner table.
I am so excited to join the Carson community for the upcoming 24/25 school year!

Hi! My name is Sophia and I am super excited to be the School Psychologist Intern at Carson this year! I just moved here from Texas and have wanted to move to Denver for a while, so I am so happy to finally be able to call Denver home. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at The University of Texas, and will be finished with my Master of Arts in School Psychology from Trinity University at the end of the school year. In my free time, I enjoy running, doing anything outdoors, and training my dog, Maverick.

Hi! I grew up in South Carolina and attended the College of Charleston. My first years in education were working with toddlers and young children in Reggio Emilia inspired schools. I moved to Colorado eight years ago and earned my alternative teaching license through the Boettcher Teaching Residency. I then worked in Aurora teaching second grade for four years before my son was born.

When not working with students, I love going on walks with my son, my dog and my husband. I also enjoy working on fiber arts, reading and trying new baking recipes.

Inspiring kids to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and compassionate global citizens is my greatest passion! This is my fourteenth year teaching at Carson and my 8th year as an instructional coach. I earned my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education at the University of Colorado, Boulder and my Masters in Reading and Writing Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Colorado, Denver. I’m grateful to have had such formative experiences volunteering with students all around the world!

When I’m not at my “second home” (Carson), I am spending time with my husband or daughter, Molly Marie!  I love being outside enjoying a book, bike ride, ski run, or tennis game with family or friends!
