Principal Message ✏️ 3/14/25 Hello Carson Community, Here are a few reminders about the upcoming Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS), which will take place April 7-25, 2025. These state-mandated assessments are the only tests given to all Colorado students in grades 3-8 and 11. They are designed to measure what students should know and be able to do in each grade level in Math, Literacy, Social Studies and Science. CMAS results provide valuable insight into whether our students are performing at grade level, are on track for the next grade and how they compare to their peers at the school, district and state levels. At Carson, we are committed to using this data to support every student’s academic progress. We use this data to set goals for our school and create our Unified Improvement Plan for the state. This year, we are working to increase participation and ensure every student’s progress is reflected. We encourage families to help their children prepare for testing by maintaining regular routines, ensuring they get plenty of rest and providing a healthy breakfast on testing days. If you have any questions about the CMAS assessments or how they support student achievement, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Fun & Fundraising for Carson 💸 THANK YOU to all the families who showed up at Culinary Dropout on Wednesday evening, only to be turned away at the door. No need to bore you all with the details, but Culinary Dropout dropped the ball, and our Carson families bore the brunt of their failure. We sincerely appreciate you all for coming out and trying to support us, and we hope this doesn’t deter you from future DFD outings! The good news is the restaurant is going to donate more back to the School than we would have earned otherwise (as well as some other food service donations), so while Wednesday as a fun DFD event was a social bust, Carson will still see the charitable benefits. Thanks again for your continued support of the School, and sincere apologies for any ruined dinner plans!
