ECE is a half day only and Parents are invited to attend a meeting on the first day of school with Mrs. Henderson and ECE students from 8:55 AM until noon.

Kindergarten First Day of School: August 28, 2013 (half-day 8:55 – 11:45 AM only) Teachers will call to schedule individual testing for all kindergarten students. Testing will be Mon, August 26 & Tue, August 27.

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation’s service.

Memorial Day was officially proclaimed on 5 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, in hisGeneral Order No. 11, and was first observed on 30 May 1868, when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery.

Coffee sent home every two weeks (every other Thursday) in your child’s backpack. Please place orders the Friday before coffee delivery date. $5 per bag donated to Carson PTA.

Volunteer Opportunities for 2013-2014 School Year
PTA needs Parent Volunteers to get as event coordinators for the 2013-2014 school year.  There are many fabulous events that are totally easy to plan and a great way to get involved with Carson.   We are looking for parent volunteers, who want to have some fun and jump in to lead events such as The First Day Coffee, Ice Cream Social, Sock Hop and many more fun and fantastic events.  We promise that organizing these events is easy, fun and does not even require you to be a regular PTA meeting attendee.  We also have many behind-the-scenes jobs that do not involve taking the lead on a specific event.  We make it really easy (and fun) for parents to get involved at Carson.    Just let us know and we will get you signed up with something that fits your interest, your time available and your enthusiasm!   Please contact Jennifer I at i_jennifer@yahoo.com or Wende Abrahm at abrahm5@msn.com if you would like more information or would like to volunteer.

Winter Weather Information for the 2012-2013 School Year

The decision to keep schools open or to close them during winter weather conditions is not a simple one, but it is made with one overriding factor in mind: the well-being of our students, their families and staff. It is a good idea to decide in advance how to best keep up with the changes, what childcare arrangements are needed, and how to adjust if schools are closed due to inclement weather.
